The Opuntia Monacantha is a classic prickly pear cactus with flattened, paddle-shaped pads in a rich green, occasionally flushed with purple in bright light. Native to South America, it's a bold and architectural mini that thrives on neglect — perfect for sunny windowsills and anyone who wants a striking plant without the fuss.

Care Guide:

Light: Full sun to bright direct light — the more sun, the better; a south-facing windowsill is ideal
Water: Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings; water very sparingly in winter
Humidity: Low humidity preferred — good ventilation is key
Temperature: 10–35°C; tolerates cool winters but protect from frost
Feeding: Feed with a cactus fertiliser once a month during spring and summer
Soil: Cactus and succulent compost with excellent drainage
