The Hoya Cinnamomifolia is a wonderfully distinctive and botanically fascinating hoya from Java and Bali, producing large, broadly ovate leaves of a rich, deep green with a beautifully prominent and contrasting pale venation that gives the foliage a wonderfully textured and architectural quality reminiscent of cinnamon leaves — from which it takes its evocative name. When it blooms it produces clusters of small, star-shaped flowers with a striking dark purple-black corona set against pale yellow-green petals, creating a floral display of considerable drama and exotic intrigue. A superb and increasingly sought-after hoya that combines handsome, architectural foliage with one of the most dramatically coloured flower clusters in the entire genus.
