Delosperma Lehmannii is a wonderfully tactile trailing succulent from South Africa, its fleshy, finger-like leaves covered in tiny glistening papillae that catch the light like frost — giving it the common name 'Ice Plant'. Compact and low-growing, it spills beautifully over the edge of a pot or shelf and produces vivid, daisy-like flowers in bright conditions. Incredibly drought-tolerant and satisfyingly easy to grow.

Care Guide:

Light: Full sun to bright indirect light — a sunny windowsill is ideal; more sun encourages flowering
Water: Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings; very drought-tolerant — overwatering is the main risk
Humidity: Low humidity preferred; excellent airflow is beneficial
Temperature: 5–30°C; surprisingly cold-hardy but protect from prolonged frost indoors
Feeding: Feed once or twice during the growing season with a diluted cactus fertiliser
Soil: Very well-draining cactus or succulent mix with added grit
